G2TT's NC Branch Receives a Letter from Volunteers

  • Name: Andi Grant
  • Hometown: USA - G2TT Headquarters
  • Anything you want to add: WAY TO GO NC BRANCH! :)

How incredibly sweet is this letter?

According to our NC Branch Director Barbara Whitehead (shown below with the boys), she said, "These were the most gentlemanly acting students we have ever had. Loved them!"

I am amazed that our volunteers actually thank us - it really is a great feeling.

HERE'S THE LETTER THEY WROTE:

Mrs. Whitehead,

My name is Marcus Townes and I am the Co-Advisor to the Upsilon Zeta chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. here at East Carolina University. Several weeks ago myself and several of my advisees volunteered with you all and we wanted to share these photos with you all. We appreciate you all allowing us to take part in your endeavors and assist in anyway necessary for the cause. As I mentioned to you before, we may not all have the same opinions on the war, but we all have a special place in our hearts for our troops as they are called to duty, by their country, to protect us from evils that are not apparent in our everyday activities. We look forward to volunteering again in the very near future, and we want to thank you for your services as they are commendable.

Sincerely,

Marcus Townes Co-Advisor Upsilon Zeta Chapter Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. East Carolina University

It's really GREAT to see college students helping out and having a GREAT attitude to our troops. Thank you East Carolina University for setting the example and thank you for your help.

OK, here's a challenge to the other many fine universities across America. Let's see you step up in the same manner as East Carolina University students have done for the NC branch. We have over 400 ECU students volunteering each semester, at the center, and also conducting fundraisers and collection drives. It's a hard act to follow! So let's Ramp it Up, and see who else can produce results as well as the ECU pirates!

In CT, we've had UCONN, YALE, Southern CT State, Central CT State, Fairfield University and Sacred Heart University all help out with drives and packing parties but not on a steady basis. In fact several of them conduct annual collection drives; and universities like Johns Hopkins does a 5k race for us each year, but alas, I think it will be hard for any college to match East Carolina University's support!!! ;)
